Baby's 1st Christmas - Unisex Gift Ideas ♥

This Christmas  is such an exciting one for me as it is my baby son's first. I have been busy since October buying his Christmas clothes and gifts and I have absolutely loved doing it all. I cannot wait to see his little face when he sees what Santa has brought him but you know what I sometimes think to myself, he'll only be ten months old on Christmas Day, he'll probably be more interested in the wrapping paper and boxes rather than the gifts themselves! For his father and I, walking into the huge toy store in our city and being surrounded by thousands of toys was quite daunting, initially we didn't even know where to look but I am happy with what we bought our little angel and I wanted to compile a 'Baby's 1st Christmas' gift list to give other parents, aunties, uncles and anyone else who may be buying a gift for a special little someone the range of products which are available for their little darlings. The great thing about my gift list is that it is unisex, the products chosen are available for both boys and girls.

Little Tykes Tap A Tune Xylophone. Babies love to make noise and this cute little xylophone is the perfect gift to set them up as a music lover for life. This comes with a handle to make it easy for baby to pull around the room when they're crawling around. This is a lovely little gift and is €12.99 available from the Smyths website.

Natures Purest My First Christmas Hug Me Flat Comforter and Pure Love Bunny. I have previously reviewed some Natures Purest items on the blog and the quality of these products is fantastic so when I saw that they had a new Baby's 1st Christmas range I just had to show you all. The Pure Love Bunny is such a sweet piece and every baby loves a comforter to snuggle up to so I chose these two adorable products from the range to show you all. I think these would make a lovely keepsake for a baby to remember their very first Christmas by. These and four other products for baby's first Christmas are available from the Natures Purest website.

Babog Bear. When I was pregnant I decided that I had to get my baby this Babog Bear when he was born as I want him to be a fluent Irish speaker. This is such a soft and cuddly bear and teaches babies and children ten shapes, colours and numbers in Irish. This bear has such a sweet little voice too, I love it and if they ever make a Polish version I'll be sure to get my son that too. Babog Bear is available from the Mothercare website for €29.99.

Peter Rabbit 30cm Cuddly Toy. As a child Peter Rabbit was one of my favourite book characters and I still have a fond place in my heart for him. I have now passed this story onto my baby boy and read it to him regularly, I think Peter Rabbit and the other Beatrix Potter characters such as Jemima Puddleduck are great cuddly toys for a baby to snuggle up to when reading one of their favourite Beatrix Potter stories. These cuddly toys are available to buy from Debenhams.

LeapFrog My Pal Scout. Learning toys are a great gift for a baby as they grow with the child and teach them lots of new things. What I love about LeapFrog's My Pal Scout is that baby's learning experience can be personalised with their name and favourite things. This toy also has a girl version named Violet, perfect for little girls! My Pal Scout can also be used as a bedtime soother so it really is a multi-use gift and I love that you can simply connect it to your computer to tailor your baby's learning experience. LeapFrogs My Pal Scout is available from the Smyths website for €22.99.

Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Sooth & Glow Seahorse. My baby loves bedtime and I want things to continue this way so I think any gift which promotes a sound and peaceful sleep is fantastic. Fisher Price's Ocean Wonders Sooth & Glow Seahorse comes in pink or blue, baby simply needs to squeeze the seahorse to make it glow and play sweet lullabies.

Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney. I love reading time with my baby boy and think the gift of a book is one of the most fabulous gifts you can ever give a baby or child. Stories really help to build and fuel a child's imagination and this cloth bound gift edition of the very sweet 'Guess How Much I Love You' is a wonderful gift to make reading time even more special. This book is hardback which makes it one that can be treasured forever. This book is available from the Waterstones website.

Fisher-Price Elite 3 in 1 Trike. If your baby is anything like mine then they'll hate being restricted to their pram, a trike which grows in stages with your baby is a great gift for babies like this and for parents who love to be outdoors with their little one. This is another product which comes in either pink or blue. This trike is great for safety conscious parents and comes with a three point harness making sure baby won't fall out. The seat is padded for comfort and is positioned to give baby's back the support it needs. This trike comes with a sun canopy great for scorching hot summer days and also boasts non slip peddles so your child will be able to peddle on their own when they are ready to. This trike also has a tilting bucket at the back and a pouch on the handle so it can bring everything your baby needs when outdoors. At just €79.99 this trike is great value for money too and is suitable for babies from 10 to 36 months.

World of Peter Rabbit Gift Box, Tales 1-12 by Beatrix Potter. As I have previously mentioned the Beatrix Potter tales were my favourite stories as a child and I think this gift box sporting twelve of her wonderful tales is a lovely gift for a baby. Reading is such an important skill and is one to nourish from a very young age. This gift box is available to buy from Amazon

Disney Baby Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Talking Plush. As I have said I think learning toys are fantastic for babies as they teach them words and skills, if they're cuddly too that's even better! My son is a big fan of Mickey Mouse, he finds him hilarious and lets be honest which child hasn't had a Disney character toy in their childhood. This plush teaches babies letters, numbers and colours and also plays songs. This is now on offer on the Smyths website for just  €14.49, an absolute bargain!

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Cookie Shape Surprise. This is a great logic building toy for babies teaching them shapes and numbers. This cookie jar has a smiling face and says a phrase each time something is put inside or on top of the jar. It also has a magical opening which senses the shapes or a baby's hand on top of the jar. This gift is sure to give babies a lot of fun and wonder. You can find the Cookie Shape Surprise on the Boots website for €22.99.
.

Taggies Cuddles N Tags Gift Set. Every baby loves tags, I don't know what they find so fascinating about them but why not bring them great taggy joy with this Taggies Cuddles N Tags Gift set? This set boasts four super soft gifts which are perfect for a little one to play with and cuddle. I think the puppy in this gift set is adorable and everything is small enough to take out and about with baby. This gift set is available from the Smyths website for €25.99.

Rocking Dragon. This is a gift for slightly older babies as this comes with a recommended age of 12+ months but this is such a lovely piece that I couldn't help but include it in my gift ideas. Babies love to be rocked and this colourful dragon is the perfect toy for a little ones bedroom or playroom. The great thing about this is that it isn't too big either so it won't take up a whole load of space in the room. I think my baby boy would love this as he loves rocking back and forth. These rockers also come as a bee, dog and dinosaur, all are available from Smyths and this dragon is now on offer for €64.99.

Baby's Activity Bundle. This bundle contains four different toys and has some great things for your babies to explore and learn from. It also has a little television for your baby which plays relaxing melodies and has moving figures - things babies love to see. This is a gift which is sure to give your baby hours of fun, note an 'hour' in baby time is about twenty minutes max! This bundle is €24.99 which I think is a great price for four toys.

That concludes my baby gift ideas! My baby boy has some of these products already and the rest he is getting for Christmas so I really do think that these are great toys from our previous experience with them and I'm looking forward to see him interact with his Christmas gifts. There are so many other things I loved but I had to whittle it down, these days there really are so many things to choose from these days, the choice is endless. Whatever you get that special little person in your life I hope they enjoy it and that you all have a wonderful Christmas.

May your days be merry and bright and may all your Christmases be white!
