My Healthy Living Adventure Begins ♥

I have begun a new healthy living adventure consisting of both a controlled diet and a new fitness regime. It's safe to say I slacked in the fitness aspect while I was pregnant, I felt sick all the time found it difficult to stand up for too long without feeling nauseous or faint, which I later found out was due to my severely low iron levels. I yearned for the day I could go out on a big, long walk again and enjoy the fresh air without the anxiety of feeling like I was going to faint in a public place, one of the worst feelings ever! The countdown began for me on April 4th when I realised I had only four weeks until Tyler Lee's christening, an event which I had set as my goal to have slimmed down by. 

For the past week I have been doing a fast paced, two and half mile walk with Tyler in his pram. I walk in the countryside so it's nice to have the views and not so many cars to dodge! I alternate between a flat route and a very steep hill route just to give myself a bit of variety. I had spoken to my Hungarian friend Edina about my weight loss goals and she informed me she was doing the same thing so we have agreed to be virtual weight loss buddies to give each other encouragement and motivation, it's always great to have someone there with you, spurring you on to achieve what you want to. She gave me lots of tips and knowledge about what she had been doing so far and recommended I download the ShapeUp Club app onto my phone to track how many calories I was eating and how many I was burning off from physical activity. She also sent me on workout exercise videos via YouTube which are great and easy to do at home.


This woman is like my new fitness guru! Her exercises are simple, easy to follow and very effective! I did a twenty minute workout yesterday using her beginner videos and today my legs are killing me, letting me know that my muscles got a good workout! I was surprised I even did the twenty minutes because I'm the sort of person who gets bored of these things quite easily! I plan to do two rounds of these workouts a day, one in the morning and one in the evening which will equal to forty minutes along with my walk which ranges from fifty minutes to an hour and a half depending on the route I take. 

On Monday I will be starting a high protein diet which shall last for a week. This will be the most difficult thing for me as since I've had the baby I have been nothing but a chocoholic! I can't get enough of the stuff! I am motivated to try my best though as I've read of some people getting amazing results on this diet. I shall do an update on Monday April 15th on my weight loss, if any occurs!

  1. I love 'blogilates' on youtube for toning up. They seem easy but some are killer! The girl that does them is so nice though and is a fitness instructor so she really knows how to motivate you. You do the workout with her at the same time so it almost feels like you have a friend there with you doing it.

    1. Thanks for the tip Emma, I must check it out. I'm on such a health kick right now. The video routine I am doing right now sounds similar to the one you've mentioned. Maybe I'll do one in the morning and one in the evening :)

  3. Good morning! Found your blog on a blog hop. I have always been a health junky for the most part. I love seeing when people are doing their part! Great work. Recently we have had to transition to EVEN more healthy lifestyle with no gluten and such due to our littlest being allergic.
